They are quite large, ranging from around 24 inches, up to 5 feet or more. I follow fancy doily patterns, many of them vintage, and some from skilled current designers. Using bulky ropes and cords, I translate these designs, which are intended to be made with fine thread, into great big powerful super-versions of their sweet, timid selves.
The detail remains, while the scale commands attention. Each Mandala is handmade with love, and many years of experience. The intricate stitch work of the Grandmothers is updated here, timeless, contemporary, beautiful, practical, new. Meet the doily, updated.
