Hand Drawn Coloring Pages
The word mandala (pronounced MAHN-dah-lah) comes from Sanskrit, meaning circle. While other shapes are used, the basic format of a mandala is circular, representing harmony, balance, and unity. Mandalas have long been used as meditative tools to calm the mind, ease stress, and free creativity. Think coloring is just for kids? Think again!
These hand drawn mandalas (some less formally structured than others) are a meditative process of my own. While computer generated mandalas are "perfect," drawing them with pen and paper feels more alive to me. Coloring the mandalas adds another layer of energy to them - yours - and the collaborative effect is always beautiful. I hope you'll enjoy the same fun and relaxation I feel when drawing them. If you're new to coloring, or have been away from it for too long, please visit the Coloring Tips page to get you started.
